I'd also like to remind you of my father's post from February 16, 2011. "For you to try to cast aspersions on a priest because he follows my blog is asinine. The job of a priest is to help those who are most unfortunate. He helps those who are in need of spiritual guidance, and those who may just need a good laugh or a good cry. Father Peter does all these things for thousands of people. He does it every waking hour of every day. He is the consummate priest. I consider it an honor and a privilege to know him. I humbly accept his guidance in all things religious. For you to highlight his name and vocation in an alleged mob story is distasteful at best. Stop!... In the meantime I would like to challenge the Dolt to one of two competitions. 1- When I am acquitted we will have a charity boxing match: One three minute round, bare knuckles, Marquess of Queensberry rules. All money raised will go to a charity of Father Peter's choosing. 2- We will each write a composition. You will write about why I should give up my right to free speech because I am charged with a crime; I will write about why I should not. Both will be published in your rag for a small donation to be made to a charity of Father Peter's choosing. Your pick."

Thoughts...
Here are some thoughts that are covered under my rights of free speech. I am aware that my written thoughts are being examined by the BOP, the FBI and the US Attorney's office but they are legal and I will share them with all.
Just a couple of issues for Sleazy Curtis Sliwa:
For those of you who didn't hear his Saturday morning show, a brief update: Sleazy threw a few third grade insults at me and then he said that I was thrown into the hole (23 hour lock-up) at my own behest. He said that the story of the telephone death threat on my life was probably a ruse on my behalf so I would feel safe in the hole. That's a lie. I am a man and safe wherever I am. When they informed my lawyer that I was in the hole because of an outside phone threat on my life, we pushed the authorities for the results of the investigation. When they would not comply with our requests we asked the magistrate judge to obtain the results of the investigation because while I was locked in the hole all of my legal work mysteriously went missing. So to say that I was a little suspicious of the death threat is an understatement. I know that the threat was bull shit and it came from law enforcement so they could have unfetted access to my paperwork and my strategies. To this day many of my legal papers have still not been returned. I wanted to know who was scrutinizing my legal materials. The magistrate said that even if he pursued the source of the threat and discovered that it came from the prosecutor's office, there was nothing he could do. If he can't, then who can? Maybe you Sleazy!! I challenge you to find out where the call originated from, or who was behind me being thrown into the hole. Come on Curtis! A man of your power and connections; it will be easy for you to get results. Prove me wrong!
Now I would just like to state for the record on my blog and on the Sleazy Curtis Sliwa show (if Frank will be kind enough to read it) that I do not wish any physical harm to come to Curtis Sliwa or anybody else. I know that Sleazy keeps saying that I am threatening him, that I want to hurt him, and I am sending signals to some unseen, unnamed, unknown goon, but this is a slanderous lie that is untrue. I think that Sleazy is trying to do me physical harm. He has said numerous times on the radio that he wants me dead. He has even said how he wants to kill me; diabetic shock! I think he might be sending a message to one of his junior angels; you know the ones that don't have wings just tight jeans the way Sleazy likes. Maybe to make Curtis happy, they'd do me bodily harm or maybe the junior angel is just an idiot and he brags to his friends that he's gonna hurt T.G. for Curtis. Now this gets picked up by an FBI bug that some drug-dealing rat had strapped to his tail at a Guardian Angel party. Now a zealous agent who just happens to not like red berets hears it and brings it to a very ambitious, extremely ruthless, unscrupulous Assistant US Attorney who just happens to have dreams of being a mayor. Curtis Sliwa is a well known name. They could get plenty of headlines arresting a big name like that. Then they start digging and they come up with an ex-angel who just happens to be facing charges of murder and rape; serious charges but he has no big name and no media draw. So at the FBI's prodding, he remembers that 30 years ago he helped Sleazy Curtis beat a guy to death. He also remembers that Curtis got a hundred dollars in tribute from one of the stores that he protects.
Voila, RICO! Murder, murder conspiracy, and extortion. You say that it's obvious that the guy is lying and he is just trying to get out of his own troubles. His charges don't matter. He's on Team America and the government says he's a new man and he must tell the truth because the government has a contract with him and the contract says he can't lie. You say that the murder conspiracy of T.G. won't stick because Curtis never knew that the moron was plotting to kill Tommy Gioeli and bragging about it but that doesn't matter. This is RICO. You don't even have to have knowledge of a crime let alone commit it. You just have to be in the same enterprise (The Guardian Angels). But surely the extortion is out. It's too old and the witnesses that Curtis could have called to say it was just a Christmas present and not tribute are dead, moved away, or just don't remember. The statute of limitations must come into play with the extortion. It doesn't matter. This is RICO. The government can go back as long as the Guardian Angels go back. Thirty years old is nothing for RICO. There are no constitutional protections here. This is RICO, the law designed to slay Italians. This fantasy is my reality.

the INEVITABLE
Well what a surprise... Tommy was hospitalized early Thursday morning.. heard through the grapevine or else we'd be clueless as to where he is. God forbid anyone should inform the family.
Weren't we just in court Tuesday the 2nd once again fighting for proper healthcare? Only the umpteenth time we've addressed his medical issues in court since his incarceration on June 4, 2008.
Anyhow... unfortunately he has had "what a appears to be" a mini stroke/Transient Ischemic Attack (TIA), although his tests results are not in as of yet. Here's some info on what a TIA is http://www.everydayhealth.com/senior-health/stroke/warning-signs-and-symptoms.aspx
As we know Thomas Gioeli suffers from diabetes, and has not been receiving proper diabetic care. The medical staff at MDC recently made the decision to stop his cholesterol pills. High cholesterol and diabetes are both causes of a TIA.
A TIA is a WARNING STROKE and preludes a stroke. Hopefully the government takes this seriously and provides him with the adequate healthcare that we have been fighting for since his incarceration.
How UNFORTUNATE that it has to come to this... and yet HOW LUCKY we are that we were blessed with a warning and not the worst case scenerio.
Tommy has been in the hospital for 4 days now. He has not been allowed to call his family. We have not been granted a visit... hopefully YET. Don't we have rights? If this is not cruel and unusual punishment then I don't know what is.
I'm sure he is shackled to the bed even though he has 3? 4? 5?+, armed Federal Marshalls guarding him 24-hours a day. Last time he was in the hospital he was shackled while doctors put a stent in his heart. IMAGINE! Shackled during surgery! WHAT WILL THEY THINK OF NEXT! Where's he going to go? The Marshalls were in on his surgery, didn't wash in, didn't wear proper attire, were talking on their cellphones...and that's only the half. But about the shackles, he can't even get up, can't even speak, can't move his leg or he'll bleed to death, but he's shackled. NECESSITY? OR A CASE OF "I WILL BECAUSE I CAN" from power-tripping marshalls? YOU DECIDE...I'm not even going to get into his other hospital stays right now because I don't feel like getting myself sick.
SAY A PRAYER FOR HIM...EVEN IF HIS BODY FAILS HIM, HIS MIND IS STRONGER THAN EVER.
YOU CAN TIE OUR HANDS AND PUSH OUR BACKS AGAINST THE WALL BUT WE WILL NEVER, NEVER, NEVER STOP FIGHTING. ALWAYS STRONGER THAN YESTERDAY.

TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN...
HERE IS A DIRECT LETTER FROM THOMAS GIOELI IN RESPONSE TO THE DISGUSTING LIES THAT CONTINUE TO BE PRINTED IN THE NEWS...
TO JOHN MARZULLI AND ALL OF THOSE WHO COPY AND PRINT HIS ARTICLES ONTO THEIR ONLINE "NEWS" SITES,
First of all I would like to start by saying that John Marzulli is a very lazy and incompetent reporter. If he would investigate any of the lies that he is fed by the government he would see how inaccurate they are.
His attacks are personal, petty, and pathetic.
His first hatchet job was about my need for a toe nail clipper? (BIG JOKE) Unless you're a diabetic who has seen so many relatives, friends, and fellow inmates lose toes, feet, and legs to an ingrown toe nail, how dare you make fun of diabetes? What's next cancer, aids? How shameful you are.
Your second swipe was in regard to my comminssary list. Again you fail to find out the truth. There are no healthy snacks sold in comminssary. Before your sham article myself and the other diabetics requested a healthier selection; brown rice, graham crackers, wheat pretzels, etc. But naturally, you failed to print this.
My last point is that if the government didn't do such a poor job at the court hearing ("I'm sorry your honor, we mis-spoke, we mis-stated") really they just outright lied, you would have covered the hearing instead of my holiday receipts.
If you or the government think that by making me look like a baffoon you will intimidate me into not fighting for proper medical treatment, you're crazy. If the government's purpose is to prejudice the future jurors that will fail also.
So I think that you should show some respect for the halls of justice where you work. Put your feet on the floor, not on the seat in front of you during court and MOST OF ALL START TELLING THE TRUTH!

GOD BLESS AMERICA
Where to start, there's so much to share but for my first day I'll keep it as simple as my heart and brain will allow...
It's been a long 84 weeks of waiting and waiting (speedy trial?). And it's only the beginning. As Americans we hold ourselves to a higher standard; or do we? Lately, I've been seeing a whole different side to our justice system. How can an unconvicted man be denied basic healthcare while awaiting trial? And I don't mean cough syrup... I mean pills that are necessary to prevent a heartattack, blood glucose tests to insure that his diabetes is under control, teeth in his mouth so he can eat, etc., etc., etc. Tommy Gioeli is not fighting simply to fight, to whine, or complain...HE IS FIGHTING FOR HIS LIFE. Without adequate care for his many serious ailments there will be serious consequences which will most likely result in death (unless there is some sort of miracle or divine intervention). This is America...how many of these men at Metropolitan Detention Center (a pre-trial holding unit) are innocent and being denied healthcare? This is not who we are as a people, as AMERICANS...and if so then we should just throw out the constitution. This is CRUEL AND UNUSUAL PUNISHMENT something that we as Americans strongly oppose. INJUSTICE ANYWHERE IS A THREAT TO JUSTICE EVERYWHERE.
And oddly enough, the media is not on the people's side. The media is not reporting the truth to us. They are not reporting both sides to a story... they are creating a monster of a man who is fighting for his life. When my dad goes to court to fight for his medical rights he leaves at 5am on a bus with no heat, no coat. He sits shackled in a bullpen until court at around 10AM. Court lasts about a half hour to an hour. Then he waits all day and does not return to the prison until around 8PM. HE IS NOT FED FOR THE ENTIRE DAY!!!!! FOR A DIABETIC MISSING A MEAL IS VERY DANGEROUS. ANYHOW THIS ISN'T EVEN HIS COMPLAINT I'M JUST ADDING IT BECAUSE WHY ON GOD'S GREEN EARTH WOULD HE WANT TO GO TO COURT ALL OF THE TIME TO FIGHT FOR HIS MEDICAL CARE IF THIS IS WHAT HIS DAY IS GOING TO BE LIKE? DO YOU THINK ANYONE WANTS TO STARVE ALL DAY AND WAIT AND WAIT AND WAIT AND GET TREATED LIKE GARBAGE? NO BUT HE GOES BECAUSE HE IS FIGHTING TO LIVE. Now he is forced to defend his character in the media because apparently, reporters do not do their job anymore. Great tactic to get the public on your side. Good old John Marzulli of the "highly credible" NY DAILY NEWS reports LIE after LIE after LIE and then every other desperate to sell a paper reporter follows suit... DOES ANYONE REALLY THINK IT IS COMICAL THAT AN UNCONVICTED AMERICAN MAN IS SLOWLY BEING KILLED BEFORE HE EVEN GOES TO TRIAL? THAT A DIABETIC IS BEING DENIED HEALTHCARE? THAT A MAN WHO HAD HIS DIABETES UNDER CONTROL BEFORE HE WAS ARRESTED IS NOW RECEIVING INSULIN? THAT A MAN WHO HAS STENTS IN HIS HEART IS NOT RECEIVING HIS MEDICINE THAT PREVENTS HIS BLOOD FROM CLOTTING (CAUSING A HEARTATTACK) IS FUNNY? THAT AN AMERICAN MAN HASN'T HAD TEETH ON ONE WHOLE SIDE OF HIS MOUTH SINCE SEPTEMBER IS FUNNY BECAUSE METROPOLITAN DETENTION CENTER IS TOO LAZY TO PUT HIS BRIDGE BACK IN HIS MOUTH? THAT THE COURT ORDERD MR. GIOELI GET AN EKG AND OTHER MEDICAL TESTS AND THE ONLY TEST MDC GAVE HIM WAS A DRUG TEST? ETC., ETC., ETC., ETC. x 1,000 other medical wrongdoings that I will save for another day...
Anyhow, on this Blog it's going to be Tommy's voice; the voice of a generous, good humored, kind, compassionate, and loving husband, father, son, brother, uncle, and friend.

ETC., ETC., ETC., ETC. x 1,000 other medical wrongdoings that I will save for another day...
Anyhow, on this Blog it's going to be Tommy's voice; the voice of a generous, good humored, kind, compassionate, and loving husband, father, son, brother, uncle, and friend.
